Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, processing, and registration under supervision. Responsibilities include venipuncture, labeling, documentation, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires interaction with patients and staff, adherence to safety and privacy policies, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.

Qualifications

• Proficient in specimen collection and handling per procedures.
• Ability to document and register specimens accurately.
• Knowledge of patient identification and test orders.
• Follows safety and privacy policies.
• 2+ years experience performing registration, clerical duties, and sending out of specimen processing.
• Adheres to company policies and security standards.
• Completes annual training and is available during disasters.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in venipunctures and/or finger sticks on patients of all ages.
• Labels specimens and aliquots according to established protocols.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens for testing and courier pickup.
• Performs registration and order entry procedures with accuracy.
• Reviews Outstanding Specimen Report (OSR) and pending issues; takes corrective action.
• Maintains records and documentation for specimen problems.
