Job summary

Labcorp in Springfield, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient service team. The role offers a Monday-Friday schedule from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with opportunities to work at patient service centers or client offices.

You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, ensure accurate data entry, and provide friendly, professional service to patients. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
