Job summary

Labcorp in Salem, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. Schedule is Mon-Wed 8:30am-5:00pm, Thu-Fri 7:30am-3:30pm; work at Patient Service Center or Client office providing exceptional service and performing specimen collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or training from an accredited agency is required or preferred.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and overtime flexibility.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
