Octapharma Plasma in Baltimore is seeking a dedicated plasma donation technician to ensure compliant operations, provide excellent donor care, and maintain a clean, safe center environment.

You will set up equipment, perform venipunctures and plasmapheresis, document accurately, monitor donor conditions, handle waste safely, and support daily maintenance and inventory while upholding company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical or health care environment preferred (3 months).
• Ability to document accurately and follow procedures.
• Strong customer service skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and professional environment.
• Review donor identification and confidentiality per SOPs.
• Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis.
• Label and ensure units and samples are labeled accurately.
• Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms and events.
• Monitor donor conditions for safety and product quality.
• Maintain donor safety and product quality ratios.
• Dispose biohazardous waste and clean spills following safety protocols.
• Perform routine calibration/maintenance of machines.
• Report unsafe situations to management.
• Maintain inventory and replenish supplies.
• Support training efficiencies and schedule adherence.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform routine QC.
