Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Erie, PA is seeking a Plasma Center Technician to support donor care and the plasmapheresis process. You will perform venipunctures, prepare equipment, ensure safety standards, and maintain a clean, compliant center environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, accurate documentation, and teamwork. Day-to-day duties include operating plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor well-being, handling biohazardous waste, and contributing to ongoing training and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State-specific certification/licensing may be required.
• Experience in medical or health care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP standards for safe operations.
• Deliver high-level customer service and maintain donor experience.
• Keep work area clean and professional at all times.
• Verify donor identification and maintain confidentiality.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis.
• Label units and samples accurately.
• Perform venipunctures and plasma collection with quality and safety.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines and monitor alarms and donor events.
• Monitor donor safety and plasma product quality.
• Dispose biohazardous waste following safety protocols.
• Calibrate/maintain machines; replace equipment when needed.
• Report unsafe situations to management.
• Maintain inventory and replenish plasma carts.
• Assist in training and ensure timely compliance.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform daily/monthly QC.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
