Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to support a healthcare facility in Jacksonville, FL. Schedule: Wed–Fri 5:30 am–3:00 pm, Sat 7:00 am–12:00 pm. Local contract position located in Jacksonville, FL 32216. Pay range: $19.85–$21.26 per hour, based on experience and credentials.

Contract length: 4 Months+. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen handling, labeling, and ensuring accurate test orders. Qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED and 3–5 years phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collect specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, and process specimens per procedure.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information accurately.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Ensure correct labeling and requisition matching for test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.

Job Type: local contract

Contract Length: 4 Months+

Pay Range: $19.85 - $21.26 per hour

*Pay offered is based on experience,expertise, credentialing, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 yr. of phlebotomy experience is required.
