Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood draws, specimen labeling, and related duties in the Austin area. The role floats among Austin locations with mileage reimbursement and daytime hours. A 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement is offered.

Requirements include a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and a high school diploma or GED. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper temperature control.
