Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC in Austin, TX seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The position floats to multiple Austin area locations; schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mileage expenses are paid.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data entry and communicating results to patients. Requires valid phlebotomy certification, 1 year venipuncture experience, MS Office proficiency, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the employing state.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information as required.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and demonstrate venipuncture techniques.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens according to required temperature and OSHA/DEP regulations.
