Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in the Austin area. The position involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and adapting to float across locations in the Austin region.

The role requires a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Mileage expenses are paid, with a 3-month projected duration and potential for perm.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in phlebotomy or related duties.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order; ensure proper packaging for transport.
• Store specimen samples per required temperature and protocol; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
