Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Greenwich, CT is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month term with potential for permanent hire. The schedule is 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays; on-site work.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, documenting maintenance data, ensuring specimen integrity, and complying with OSHA/DEP regulations while attending annual trainings.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 12 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process in a clear, courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol.
