Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Greenwich, CT. Schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays. Duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The successful candidate will perform blood draws, label and process specimens, and maintain accurate patient records while complying with OSHA regulations. Experience in a fast-paced lab is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 12 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure orders are followed and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures.
