Job summary

Your Talent Team in Greenwich CT is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to join our team for approximately 3 months with potential for permanent employment. The role requires phlebotomy certification and at least 1 year of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. The schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays.

Location is Greenwich, CT, and benefits are available. The job entails blood draws, specimen labeling, and strict adherence to lab procedures and safety

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 12 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and transport protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and specimen handling procedures.
