6 Degrees Search in Ashland, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The position involves blood collection, specimen labeling, processing, and accurate data entry in the lab system.

Responsibilities include venipuncture with straight or butterfly needles, proper specimen handling, and adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm, with every other Friday off; project duration ~3 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and label correctly.
• Package specimens for transport and store specimens per protocol.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
