Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Monroe, NY with a float assignment. Schedule: Mon–Thu 8:00am–5:30pm, Fri 8:00am–1:00pm. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for permanent conversion. Benefits are available and training is provided.

The role involves drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry and specimen handling in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging and maintaining data.
• Collects and stores specimens per established procedures and protocols.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients in a courteous manner.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures.
• Verify requisitions match specimens and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
