Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Monroe, NY. The role requires coming in for a float position with a schedule Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:30pm and Fri 8:00am-1:00pm. The assignment is projected for 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate records. Requires phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture with accuracy and courtesy.
• Label, centrifuge, and process specimens per SOPs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance data and documentation; update patient information.
• Ensure proper packaging and transport of specimens; adhere to temperature controls.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations; participate in annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and communicate test results clearly to clinicians.
