Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The position runs Mon-Fri from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on site, with an approximate duration of 3 months and potential for perm.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, and proper transport and storage of specimens. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience and pediatric to geriatric exposure.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience required.
• Pediatric to geriatric experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information per procedure.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
