Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist in Port Charlotte, FL for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The schedule is Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, with a projected duration of 3 months plus potential for perm.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab protocols. Applicants should have 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience, pediatric to geriatric exposure, and a valid state phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience required.
• Pediatric to geriatric experience required.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly to patients in a courteous manner.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Ensure OSHA and DEP regulations compliance; attend annual department trainings; answer inquiries.
