Job summary

Workforce Recruiter in Newberg, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3‑month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires hands-on blood collection, specimen labeling, and accurate data entry within a fast-paced lab environment.

You'll work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays every 4–5 weeks. The position emphasizes OSHA/DEP compliance, patient communication, and teamwork with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and comply with required temperatures and storage protocols.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
• Answer inquiries by reading laboratory results.
