Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Monroe, NY (float position). Schedule is Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:30pm and Fri 8:00am-1:00pm, with an estimated 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and ensuring transport and temperature controls, while adhering to OSHA/DEP regulations and standard lab procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience with blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and ensuring specimen transport integrity.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and families.
• Ensure correct matching of requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
