Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Monroe, NY. The position requires experience with blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate data, with a typical schedule of Mon–Thu 8:00am–5:30pm and Fri 8:00am–1:00pm.

The assignment is projected for 3 months with potential for permanent hire based on performance. Benefits are available, and the role supports OSHA/DEP compliance and patient interaction while ensuring specimen integrity.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection.
• Package specimens for transport and stores specimen sample according to required temperature; follow OSHA/DEP regulations.
