Job summary

Workforce Recruiter in Austin, TX seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential to perm. Must be able to float to multiple Austin-area sites and cover a 8am-5pm schedule. Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate patient data.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients, demonstrating technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and prepares specimens for transport.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
