Job summary

Hire Consulting Services is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in the Austin area. You will float among locations, perform blood draws, label and process specimens, and ensure specimen integrity.

The role requires a valid Phlebotomy certification, 6 months to 1 year of venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Mileage is reimbursed and typical hours are Monday to Friday 8am–5pm, with potential for perm.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, label specimens, centrifuge and decontaminate.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
