RRC Solutions Group in Austin, TX seeks a contract Phlebotomist to support multiple locations as a float in the Austin area. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential for additional daytime hours. Duration about 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and compliance with OSHA guidelines, with mileage reimbursement and a reliable transportation plan.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand physician orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol to maintain integrity.
