Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in Austin, TX is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to float across the Austin area. The role includes performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation. The position requires reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Floating location coverage and mileage reimbursement are provided. Schedule is M-F 8am-5pm with possible extended daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and properly label and centrifuge specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries.
