Job summary

Management Performance Associates in Newberg, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role (3 months with potential for permanent). The position involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient and lab records.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm with rotating Saturdays (one every 4–5 weeks). Applicants should have a valid state phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months’ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital,

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles. Understand all physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required; package specimens for transport while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
