Meritas Advisory Group, LLC in Draper, UT is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday. This position requires geriatric experience and at least 1 year of phlebotomy work, with benefits available.

The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and maintenance data entry, with adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations. Prior experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• minimum 6 months of experience
• minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels against script for accuracy (100%).
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper temperature during storage.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
