Job summary

Workforce Recruiter is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Draper, UT, with potential for permanency. Schedule is 7am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, and benefits are available.

The role requires geriatric experience and at least 1 year in the field, with a valid phlebotomy certification where required. Responsibilities include routine blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and proper specimen handling in a fast-paced lab, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand orders, match requisitions, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against script for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol, complying with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries.
