Key People in Draper, UT is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri; location Draper UT; contract duration about 3 months with possibility of permanency.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, and handling specimens; must have phlebotomy certification and at least 1 year experience, including geriatric patient care.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts for 100% accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples per required temperatures; follow OSHA/DEP regulations; attend trainings.
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
