Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist (Contract) to support Montgomery County, MD locations with a float assignment. Typical schedule is 1st shift, Mon–Fri, 7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, with EOS 8am–12pm. Duration is 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

The role covers blood collection, specimen labeling, transport packaging, and adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations. Strong phlebotomy and lab data handling skills are required, plus a HS diploma and a state certification.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understands physicians' orders and matches requisition forms to tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples to maintain integrity.
• Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations and attends annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
