Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. in Newberg, OR is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month engagement with potential to become permanent. Schedule is Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm with rotating Saturdays. Benefits are available.

The role includes performing venipuncture, labeling and handling specimens, and ensuring proper transport of specimens while maintaining patient information and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Ensure labels and requisitions match specimens and follow protocol for transport and storage.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer inquiries and communicate results when needed.
