Pheresis Support Technician — Donor Care

Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a Donor Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor and machine, respond to alarms, and document incidents in the PDA and donor management system.

You will ensure accurate donor data, maintain a clean work environment, follow HSE/OSHA policies, and may cross-train in other areas. Some roles may require bilingual skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents using the PDA and link equipment to the donor in the system.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment with adequate supplies.
• Follow all HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization discretion.
