Job summary

CSL Plasma is hiring a Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures. You will monitor the donor and machine, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor upon completion.

The role requires attention to donor safety, accurate data entry in the donor information system, and adherence to SOPs and safety policies. Experience in medical environments and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• Minimum of three months' work experience in a medical or health provider environment is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any donor reactions during/after pheresis and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process (alarms, volume variances, adverse events).
• Links equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understands policies for hyperimmune programs where applicable.
• Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organizational discretion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
