Job summary

CSL is seeking a Donor Pheresis Technician to prepare donors and equipment, monitor the pheresis process, and respond to alarms. You will disconnect donors at the end and maintain accurate donor data in the system, while adhering to safety policies.

The role requires attention to donor reactions, clean work habits, and potential cross-training in other areas. Some positions may require bilingual skills, depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Preparing the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitoring the donor and the pheresis process and responding to alarms.
• Disconnecting the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintaining alertness to donor reactions and notifying appropriate staff.
• Using a PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process.
• Using PDA to link equipment and materials to the donor.
• Warning Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Accurately recording donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Understanding policies for hyper-immune programs when applicable.
• Maintaining a clean, efficient work environment and ensuring supplies are available; following HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintaining confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• Cross-training in other areas may be required.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
