Job summary

CSL is seeking a Phlebotomy/Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the pheresis area. You will monitor donors during the procedure and ensure safe completion, responding to alarms or signals as they arise.

Responsibilities include documenting incidents with a PDA, linking supplies to donors, and maintaining accurate donor data within the information system per SOPs. A clean, compliant work environment and safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents using a PDA, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Inform supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper-immune programs where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with HSE/OSHA policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
