Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking apheresis technicians to prepare donor areas and equipment, operate the pheresis machine, and monitor during the procedure. You will document incidents in the PDA and ensure accurate donor data entry per SOPs while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, alarm response, and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment. Prior healthcare exposure and basic math skills are preferred; bilingual ability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process using a PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
