Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Will perform basic math calculations.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals that may occur during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during/after the process and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process using the PDA (alarms, volume variances, adverse events).
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
