Job summary

CSL Plasma in Kenner, LA is hiring a phlebotomist to perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection with strict SOP adherence. You will set up donors, monitor the process, and safeguard donor and product quality.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, vein assessment, documenting donor data in the electronic system, and maintaining a safe, efficient center environment in compliance with FDA guidelines and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• External candidates: minimum 6 months experience as a phlebotomist; 1 year preferred.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a medical or health care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis per SOPs.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust process for efficiency and donor comfort.
• Educate donors on the donation process and center policies.
• Monitor for donor reactions and respond or alert staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using PDA and electronic systems.
• Ensure equipment maintenance, troubleshoot alarms, and replace faulty equipment.
• Maintain donor flow on the floor and ensure availability of supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed; may require bilingual skills.
