Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a Plasma Collection Technician to collect plasma from donors at our U.S. centers. You will perform venipuncture, monitor the pheresis process, and follow SOPs to ensure donor safety and product quality.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 12 months in a medical setting; CA centers have additional certification requirements. You will document donor data, educate donors, and maintain equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For Centers located in CA, must be state certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR currently registered as a Nurse by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture to begin the pheresis process.
• Monitor the pheresis process and donor flow.
• Set up donors and monitor during collection; disconnect after donation.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and make adjustments to expedite donation and ensure quality.
• Educate donors on the donation process, screening tests, and policies.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and assist staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data in the PDA and electronic systems.
• Calibrate equipment and address complex alarms or donor issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and replace faulty components.
• Ensure a clean, safe work environment and proper supplies.
• Maintain donor confidentiality and safety policies.
