Job summary

CSL Vifor Indianapolis center is seeking apheresis technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. You will prepare the autopheresis machine and monitor the donor and process, responding to alarms and signals as needed.

You will record incidents in the PDA, link equipment to donors, maintain data accuracy in the donor information system, follow SOPs, and uphold HSE/OSHA policies while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three months' work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents in the PDA regarding machine alerts, alarms and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in pheresis to the donor in the system.
• Inform Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data recording in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow policies related to hyper-immune programs and maintain safety and confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
