Job summary

CSL Plasma is hiring an Apheresis Support Technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process, and to ready the autopheresis machine for use. You will monitor the donor and the process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete.

You will record incidents in the PDA, link equipment to the donor, and ensure accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months' work experience in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow health safety, environmental and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
