Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a pheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process. You will monitor donors and respond to alarms, disconnect donors when complete, and maintain accurate donor data in the system.

You will also document incidents, link supplies to donors, and alert supervisors to flow issues, while following safety policies and ensuring confidentiality of all information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents during the pheresis process in the PDA for alarms and events.
• Link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor to donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the donor information system.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs as applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA/HSE policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
