Pheresis Donor Support Technician

Job summary

CSL is seeking a donor pheresis technician to prepare donors, donor area, and equipment for pheresis procedures. You will monitor donors and the pheresis process, respond to alarms, and disconnect donors when complete.

Responsibilities include recording incidents in the PDA, linking equipment to donors, and ensuring accurate donor data per SOPs. Cross-training and bilingual abilities may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms; follow HSE/OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet business needs.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
