Job summary

CSL in College Station, TX is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process and to ready the autopheresis machine for the procedure.

The role involves monitoring the donor and the pheresis process, responding to alarms, and disconnecting the donor when complete. You will document incidents in the PDA and ensure accurate donor data in the electronic system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after the pheresis process and notify staff.
• Record incidents that occur during the pheresis process in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the donor information system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Maintain accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
