Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a donor center technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process and to monitor the donor throughout the procedure in a clinical setting.

You will maintain PDA records, ensure correct linkage of supplies to each donor, and follow SOPs to support donor safety and data accuracy. A high school diploma and at least three months of health-care experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents in the PDA and link equipment to the donor record.
• Link supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data in the information management system.
• Maintain clean work environment and follow safety policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
