Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking an efficient Phlebotomy/pheresis support technician to prepare donors, equipment, and area for the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor and system alarms, disconnect after completion, and record data in the donor management system per SOPs.

Role requires attention to safety, basic math, and experience in a medical setting. Some duties may include cross-training and potential bilingual requirements to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis; notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents during pheresis using the PDA (alarms, volume variances, adverse events).
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Adhere to policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment; ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
