Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a pheresis support technician to prepare donors, donor areas, and equipment for the pheresis process. The role includes machine setup, monitoring the donor, handling alarms, and disconnecting the donor when complete.

The candidate will record incidents, link equipment to donors in the system, and maintain confidentiality while following SOPs and safety policies. Some cross-training and bilingual ability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual may be required.
