Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a phlebotomy-pheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the work area for pheresis procedures. You will monitor the donor and machine, respond to alarms, and ensure precise data recording in the donor system.

The role requires basic math, attention to detail, and adherence to HSE and OSHA policies, with potential cross-training opportunities and bilingual requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, including alarms and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system using PDA.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data recording in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
