Job summary

CSL is seeking apheresis technicians to perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection in a high-volume environment. You will setup donors, monitor during collection, and disconnect safely after donation, following SOPs and FDA guidelines.

The role emphasizes donor safety and accurate data logging. You will educate donors on the process, monitor for adverse reactions, and assist with equipment maintenance and staff training to ensure efficient flow and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 18 months experience in a medical/healthcare environment preferred.
• Specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure and plasma collection per SOPs, including donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process per SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation while ensuring safety.
• Educate donors about therapeutic products, screening, appointment systems, fees, and policies.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist with reactions or notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis, including alarms and adverse events.
• Provide guidance and training to donor floor staff as required.
• Monitor donor flow and allocate resources to reduce backlog.
• Maintain equipment by calibrations and coordination of maintenance per SOPs.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
