Giant Eagle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will help build a service-conscious Pharmacy that focuses on building relationships with patients while ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient care.

Entry-level role with responsibilities spanning in-person and phone orders, inventory management, and coordinator tasks within a busy pharmacy environment. Training and state registration support are provided.

Qualifications

• 0–6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the state board

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Assist with processing orders in person and by phone and direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and compliant work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team to ensure department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to maximize efficiency and accurate patient care across drop-off, will call, drive-thru, phone, filling, and order receiving.
• Follow company initiatives and complete required training and exams.
• Finalize sales using the cash register per established procedures.
• Transcribe prescription data to generate customer labels.
• Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs and supplies.
