Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join a collaborative team focused on safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care.

You will support pharmacists with prescriptions, patient outreach, and daily department operations while building strong relationships with customers. Entry requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent; eligibility to obtain state registration; and a willingness to learn under HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligibility to obtain pharmacy technician registration with the applicable state board.
• Willingness to learn and comply with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist at the pharmacy entry with a compassionate smile.
• Assist pharmacists with processing prescriptions and answering customer questions.
• Maintain a neat, clean work environment and inventory per policy.
• Support team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to process actions, pull patient profiles, and manage fill dates.
• Contribute to improving service outcomes through knowledge of metrics.
• Complete required training and examinations.
• Follow all company, state, and federal policies including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales.
• Assist with POS transactions and labeling per procedure.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism.
• File prescriptions daily.
